The Short Version
We don't sell your data. Your photos never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to send them. We collect only what's necessary to make the app work and improve recommendations. Your business is your business.

Unwyned is operated by Inceptyon Labs LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Unwyned mobile application (the "App").
2. Information We Collect

- Taste Profile: Responses to the flavor quiz and your wine preferences
- Wine Ratings: Wines you've tried, your ratings, and notes
- User Content: Any feedback, reviews, or communications you send us

- Device Information: Device model, operating system, unique device identifiers
- Usage Data: Features used, wines scanned, recommendations viewed
- Performance Data: Crash reports, app performance metrics
- Analytics: Anonymized usage patterns to improve the app

- Photos: Your camera images are processed on-device only. We never receive or store your photos unless you explicitly choose to send a difficult label for manual processing.
- Location: We don't track your location
- Contacts: We don't access your contacts
- Financial Information: We don't store payment details (handled by Apple/Google)
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 To Provide the Service
- Generate personalized wine recommendations based on your taste profile
- Process wine menu scans and extract text from labels
- Maintain your wine collection and ratings history
- Send you service-related notifications
3.2 To Improve the App
- Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and user experience
- Fix bugs and improve app performance
- Develop new features based on aggregated user behavior
3.3 What We DON'T Do
- We DON'T sell your personal information to third parties
- We DON'T use your data for advertising purposes
- We DON'T share your individual wine preferences with wine brands or retailers
4. How We Share Your Information
4.1 Service Providers
We share data with trusted service providers who help us operate the app:
- Supabase: Cloud database and authentication (data encrypted in transit and at rest)
- RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management (handles purchase validation and entitlement status; does not receive personal information beyond anonymized user identifiers)
- OpenAI/Google: Text extracted from wine menus for parsing (no images sent, text only)
- Firebase/Analytics: Anonymized usage analytics and crash reporting
- Apple (App Store): Payment processing for in-app purchases (we do not receive or store your payment information)
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to comply with legal processes.
4.3 Business Transfers
If Unwyned is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred. You will be notified of any such change.
5. Data Security
We take security seriously:
- All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted (TLS/SSL)
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard encryption
- Access to user data is restricted to essential personnel only
- Regular security audits and updates
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Tracking and Advertising
6.1 App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
Unwyned does not track you across other companies' apps and websites. We do not use the Apple Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or engage in cross-app tracking. Therefore, we do not display the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt because we have nothing to track.
6.2 No Advertising
We do not display advertisements in the app. We do not share your data with advertising networks or data brokers. Your wine preferences stay with us.
6.3 Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data to improve the app. This data cannot be used to identify you personally. You can disable analytics tracking in the app settings.
7. Data Retention
7.1 Active Accounts
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Your taste profile, wine ratings, and preferences are stored to provide personalized recommendations.
7.2 Account Deletion
When you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, legal compliance).
7.3 Retention Periods
- Account data: Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
- Taste profiles and ratings: Deleted with account
- Analytics data: Anonymized and retained for up to 26 months
- Crash reports: Retained for 90 days
- Transaction records: Retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance
8. Your Rights and Choices
8.1 Access and Update
You can access and update your profile information within the app at any time.
8.2 Delete Your Data
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing [email protected]. We will delete your data within 30 days.
8.3 Export Your Data
You can request a copy of your data by emailing [email protected].
8.4 Opt-Out of Analytics
You can disable analytics tracking in the app settings.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
9.1 Your Rights
- Right to Know: You can request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete: You can request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Correct: You can request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell your personal information. There is nothing to opt out of.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.

9.3 Categories of Information
In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers: Email address, device identifiers
- Commercial information: Purchase history (subscription status)
- Internet activity: App usage data, features accessed
- Inferences: Taste preferences derived from quiz responses and ratings
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
10. Children's Privacy
Unwyned is not intended for users under 21 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If we discover that we have collected information from someone under 21, we will delete it immediately.
11. International Users
Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. By using Unwyned, you consent to this transfer.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
